Publication policy
Understand how BFL works, what you share and how to manage your choices.
Updated October 1, 2026BestFastLinks aims to list useful, general-audience websites that are appropriate for everyday browsing.
General principle
A website is evaluated according to its primary purpose. An isolated word, symbol, product or sensitive collection does not automatically disqualify a general-purpose website.
Generally acceptable content
Shopping, music, fashion, technology, information, entertainment, services and other general-audience websites may be listed when they comply with the rules below.
Religious or spiritual references, gothic or occult symbols, and references to sexual orientation, identity or Pride are not, by themselves, grounds for rejection.
Content not accepted
- websites primarily devoted to pornography or explicit adult sexual content;
- websites primarily devoted to selling or promoting drugs;
- websites primarily devoted to selling or promoting alcohol;
- political campaign or primarily partisan websites when they fall outside BFL’s editorial purpose;
- content primarily promoting hatred, discrimination or violence against people or groups;
- illegal or clearly dangerous content.
Sensitive or ambiguous content
A general-purpose site may contain sensitive elements without being rejected. Examples include gothic clothing with religious or occult symbols, Pride or LGBT clothing, fashion using the word “bondage” without explicit sexual content, or music and art with dark or provocative themes.
Review and decisions
BFL may classify a listing as Compliant, Review or Probable issue. Automated detection is used to flag possible concerns. A listing classified as “Probable issue / Rejected” is automatically moved to pending publication so it is no longer publicly visible until an administrator reviews it. Ambiguous cases remain available for manual review.
Website changes
A previously accepted website may be reviewed again if its content, purpose or destination changes significantly.
Limits of review
A BFL review concerns information available at the time of review. It is not a certification or guarantee of ongoing safety. Logos identify websites visually and do not guarantee their content.
